The New Moon in Capricorn arrives bright and early: Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 6:57 AM EST (see chart below!) when the Sun and Moon are at 20 degrees, 41 minutes Capricorn. Both lights are on the orb of their conjunctions with Pluto: the Sun's conjunction with Pluto will be perfected next week, moments before they both enter Aquarius.
This is the first New Moon of the year and the last New Moon in Capricorn while Pluto is in Capricorn. . . something that won't happen again for 228 years. In this season, we are finishing our Pluto in Capricorn journey: which started in November 2008! What ends for you, and what happens?
This energy also takes us back to the fall of 2020, yes, the initial phase of Covid, when Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter danced together in the last degrees of Capricorn.
There is no Air in the chart except for the South Node of Libra, and while Fire and Water are well represented, Earth dominates. It's time to do and not talk!
The New Moon trine with Uranus in Taurus invites our creativity: to think outside the box to build solutions to real-world problems. Cardinal Earth sign Capricorn helpfully stimulates Fixed Earth Taurus, bringing the possibility of significant change.
We actually have a Grand Trine on Earth, with asteroid Juno in Virgo making up the third point of the triangle. You need support to create what you're creating, and luckily, it's at hand!
Overall, there are a ton of major setups in the sky right now (all of which I plan to discuss during my New Moon Manifestation Circle webinar tonight! ETA: Here's the link to purchase the recordings and slides).
The other one I'll note here is a Mutable Cross, made up of Ceres and Mercury in Sagittarius (you can throw in Venus too if you want, though that's a bit wide of the mark), Juno in Virgo, Neptune in Pisces, and Vesta in Gemini.
The Mutable Crosses throw us into a state of change: the status quo won't hold much longer, so you might as well jump in now instead of waiting to be pushed. The vision you articulated in late 2020 is ready to launch.
Whether you join the class or create a ritual on your own, I hope you will take the time to sit with your soul for a bit and set your intentions for the next 30 and two and a half days. annual cycles under this New Moon.
